‎La Carlota City College’s LCCC+Aiders, in partnership with the La Carlota City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), held the 7th Basic Life Support and First Aid Training at the Friendship Hall, LCCC Main Campus, from March 9 to 13. ‎ The five-day intensive program aims to equip participants with essential life-saving skills, ensuring that volunteers and trainees are prepared to respond to medical emergencies. ‎ The event conducted seminars on various topics such as Introduction to First Aid, Guidelines in Giving Emergency Care, Emergency Care Demonstration, Patient Casualty Handling, Shock, Soft Tissue Injuries, Bone, Joint, and Muscle Injuries, Basic Extrication and Spinal Injury, Common Emergencies, Basic Life Support with Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO). ‎ Skills training activities included Medical and Trauma Head-to-Toe Assessment, Bandaging, Immobilization and Splinting, Basic Extrication, Lifting and Moving Techniques, Basic Life Support for FBAO, and an Amazing Race with Skills Stations. ‎ ‎Present in today's program were Prof. Laurence M. Lachica, Head of the Office of Students' Affairs and Services; Dr. Edgardo Apuhin Jr., Founding Father of LCCC+Aiders; the DRRMO team led by Jovet E. Gatoc, along with Reggie N. Balleda, Richard M. Ostan, Kert G. Presores, and Kenneth Niel E. Salsalida; Prof. Nenita L. Pillado, LCCC+Aiders Adviser; Prof. Ted Ezra M. Juanola, LCCC+Aiders Co-Adviser; Prof. Aileen Balbon, LCCC+Aiders Co-Adviser; and LCCC+Aiders volunteers.

Today marks the 59th founding anniversary of La Carlota City College, nearly six decades of excellence and service. We remain grateful for the strength and unity of the LCCC community, which is characterized by its resilience and commitment to quality education. Due to the inclement weather, our anniversary celebration has been postponed for everyone’s safety. Despite this, our spirit remains unwavering.
