The College of Criminal Justice (CoCJ) underwent a shooting range inspection and gun safety orientation held at La Carlota City College Cubay Campus, February 9. The event was initiated by the Regional Civil Security Unit of PNP Negros Island Region (RCSU NIR), headed by PLTCOL Lyndel Grace L. Matillano, OIC RCSU NIR, together with PCPT Freddie C. Cayot Jr., Assistant Chief RCSU NIR; PSSg Johnny P. Giducos, Enforcement SAGS and Supply PNCO; and PSSg Bonie L. Dejido, FES Action PNCO. Also present during the inspection were Dr. Gemar Alarcon, Criminology Instructor, and Mr. Ian Dexter Del Rosario, Supply Officer.
“Ranks are temporary but character is permanent, authority may be granted by an institution but respect is earned through ethical conduct and sincere service to the people,” Dr. Mary Hope Q. Ayson said. A total of 65 officers and 300 cadets of Class 01-2026 Bagsik Lawin from the College of Criminal Justice (CoCJ) gathered together for Pinning and Donning of Ranks Ceremony held at LCCC-Cubay Campus Ground today, February 24. The pinning was conducted to formally recognize students' readiness for a criminal justice career. The donning of uniform symbolizes their active commitment to their duties, especially while serving in police stations in La Carlota City, La Castellana, Pontevedra, San Enrique, and Valladolid where they are currently deployed. Present at the event were PLT Jessica Malata, Deputy Chief for Operation, La Carlota Component Police station; Dr. Mary Hope Q. Ayson, Vice President of Administration and Human Resources; Prof. Ronnie T. Basa, Program Head; Dr. Gemar I. Alarcon, OJT Coordinator; Prof. Jessa Joy T. Subaldo, OJT Coordinator; and the CoCJ faculty.
The College of Criminal Justice (CoCJ) held a reorientation program for the 365 Criminology Interns of Class Bagsik Lawin 2025-2026, at the LCCC Cubay Campus yesterday, January 23. The program was conducted to remind interns of their duties, attendance, and submission requirements needed to pass the Criminology Practicum. It was led by CoCJ Program Head Ronnie T. Basa, Dr. Gemar I. Alarcon, and Prof. Jessa Joy T. Subaldo.
