"PRB Agriculture Visits LCCC "

The Professional Regulatory Board of Agriculture (PRB Agriculture) inspection and monitoring team from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) visited La Carlota City College (LCCC) Main and Cubay campuses today, January 15. The PRB Agriculture team, including Hon. Emma K. Sales, Chairperson of the Professional Regulatory Board of Agriculture; Hon. Annabelle S. Sarabia, Member of the Board; and Ms. Salome Preciosa G. Daymoto, Chief of the Regulatory Division, inspected the offices accompanied by the LCCC staff. The team focused on the College of Agriculture (CoAg) to check documents, resources, facilities, and the eligibility of CoAg faculty members to teach the six core subjects in the Agriculture Licensure Examination (ALE), namely: Soil Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Extension and Communication, Crop Science, Agricultural Economics and Marketing, and Crop Protection. This process ensures that students receive an education that sufficiently prepares them for future board examinations and professional practice. The team was first welcomed through an opening program held at the Graduate School Library – Main Campus. The program was attended by Dr. Larnie Sam Tabuena, College President; Dr. Maylin Tongcua, OIC Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Mary Hope Ayson, Vice President for Administration and Human Resource; Prof. Leah Velasco, Vice President for Finance; Dr. Ma. Cecilia Mercado, Dean of the College of Agriculture; faculty members; CoAg overall student officers; and selected students from the CoEd.

ALE 2025 Results are in!

La Carlota City College – College of Agriculture proudly recognizes 34 new Agriculturists from the recently held Agriculturists Licensure Examination (ALE) conducted on November 19-21, 2025. The PRC announced that 6,678 out of 9,742 examinees nationwide passed the November 2025 Agriculturists Licensure Examination, with a 68.55% national passing rate. LCCC also celebrates a meaningful achievement this year with 34 passers out of 82 takers, giving the College an improved 41.46% overall rating, higher than last year’s 36.11%, marking a meaningful rise in performance. This accomplishment reflects your dedication, perseverance, and commitment throughout your journey. Your hard work has led you to this well-deserved achievement, and we are truly proud of you. COLLEGE NEWS | De Jesus, Bañas win 2nd Runner-Up in National RDE Conference and In-House Review 2025

Ramon E. De Jesus Jr. and Teresita B. Bañas secured the 2nd runner-up spot in the Best Paper Competition at the National RDE Conference and In-House Review 2025 held in Baguio City, November 24-28. De Jesus and Bañas, from the College of Agriculture (CoAg), co-authored the study titled “Fallowing: Its Effect on Sugarcane Yield and Economic Feasibility" along with Gina D. Cahilig, Andy C. Alimpulos, Ian Reymart Alfanza, and Joefrey D. Muya. The Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) conferences and in-house reviews are platforms for researchers from the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) to evaluate research progress, share valuable research ideas, assess areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with the institutions' sustainable development goals and priorities.
