The Judo Club of La Carlota City College (LCCC) emerged victorious with the highest number of medals at the 1st Mayor Mayette Invitational Judo Tournament 2026, held at Bago City College Covered Court, Bago City, yesterday, February 14. Overall, the club bagged 18 medals from its College of Criminal Justice representatives, including seven (7) golds won by John Kairo Perez and Andrie Monteras (Colored Belt Category), and Janel Estrada, Edrich John Matias, Jorena Joy Mondejar, Andre Miguel Rojo, and Edmark Barbas (White Belt Category). Five (5) silver medals were secured by Ryne Palacios and Ahron David Liquez (Colored Belt Category), while Fritz Andrew Benitez, Jayvie Carnecer, and Jose Rizaldy Tobias added to the tally in the White Belt Category. Six (6) bronze medals in the White Belt Category came from Justine Soner, Kent Adrian Angelico, Loreen Pacheco, Hermil John Guillermo, Cyrin Glaiza Tenerife, and Sherluck Kate Sapin. Also participated in the event were Crystal Mae Cantallopez, Kert Marquez, Justin Genton, Rio Jesser Piorque, Leemar Camandona, Jhon Madrona, Reymary Estañol, John Carlo Zamora, Chee Anne Mingao, Ramilyn Rodrigo, Jayden James Sotto from the College of Criminal Justice, and Mickey John Berto and Dhonn Quibete from the College of Business and Management. Together with the representatives was one of their Judo coaches, Mrs. Anchenet S. Malicse. The club is under the supervision of Mr. Stephen V. Flora, Judo Club Adviser, and Sir Peter John B. Ambid, Judo Coach. This achievement stands as a testament to the determination and perseverance of the Judokas, bringing glory and pride to both the club and the institution. Invictus LCCCians!
Team La Carlota Soars to New Heights at ROTC Games 2024 National Championship The team of La Carlota City won the regional championship and got into the National ROTC Game. LCCC BS Criminology students Lianne Marie V. Ardeña, Jethro Yaun, Jerann S. Mamar (graduate), Aaron Selda Jr. (graduate), Angelo Jonas Ostan (graduate), are making waves at the Philippine ROTC Game National Championship in Tagaytay. Lianne Ardeña, a standout fighter for the team, won her match against a Mindanao opponent in a Kickboxing female category. She won by Technical Knockout (TKO) in the first round and secured the spot moving to the semi finals. Jethro Yaun, powered his way to a silver medal in the thrilling 100-meter backstroke swimming competition, under the guidance of coach Arc Angel Campos. Jerann Mamar and Aaron Selda Jr, failed to conquer their fights against Luzon fighters and Angelo Jonas Ostan lost against Visayas Air force in kickboxing male category. Ardeña's victory, however, keeps the team's hopes high. Coaches Jerry Ti-ayon and Cromwill T. Samson, from the Mangkas Fighting Club, are guiding the team showing everyone their best as they can be, and excited on what they can achieve next in the competition.
