A total of 65 officers and 300 cadets of Class 01-2026 Bagsik Lawin from the College of Criminal Justice (CoCJ) gathered together for Pinning and Donning of Ranks Ceremony held at LCCC-Cubay Campus Ground today, February 24. The pinning was conducted to formally recognize students' readiness for a criminal justice career. The donning of uniform symbolizes their active commitment to their duties, especially while serving in police stations in La Carlota City, La Castellana, Pontevedra, San Enrique, and Valladolid where they are currently deployed. Present at the event were PLT Jessica Malata, Deputy Chief for Operation, La Carlota Component Police station; Dr. Mary Hope Q. Ayson, Vice President of Administration and Human Resources; Prof. Ronnie T. Basa, Program Head; Dr. Gemar I. Alarcon, OJT Coordinator; Prof. Jessa Joy T. Subaldo, OJT Coordinator; and the CoCJ faculty.
The Judo Club of La Carlota City College (LCCC) emerged victorious with the highest number of medals at the 1st Mayor Mayette Invitational Judo Tournament 2026, held at Bago City College Covered Court, Bago City, yesterday, February 14. Overall, the club bagged 18 medals from its College of Criminal Justice representatives, including seven (7) golds won by John Kairo Perez and Andrie Monteras (Colored Belt Category), and Janel Estrada, Edrich John Matias, Jorena Joy Mondejar, Andre Miguel Rojo, and Edmark Barbas (White Belt Category). Five (5) silver medals were secured by Ryne Palacios and Ahron David Liquez (Colored Belt Category), while Fritz Andrew Benitez, Jayvie Carnecer, and Jose Rizaldy Tobias added to the tally in the White Belt Category. Six (6) bronze medals in the White Belt Category came from Justine Soner, Kent Adrian Angelico, Loreen Pacheco, Hermil John Guillermo, Cyrin Glaiza Tenerife, and Sherluck Kate Sapin. Also participated in the event were Crystal Mae Cantallopez, Kert Marquez, Justin Genton, Rio Jesser Piorque, Leemar Camandona, Jhon Madrona, Reymary EstaΓ±ol, John Carlo Zamora, Chee Anne Mingao, Ramilyn Rodrigo, Jayden James Sotto from the College of Criminal Justice, and Mickey John Berto and Dhonn Quibete from the College of Business and Management. Together with the representatives was one of their Judo coaches, Mrs. Anchenet S. Malicse. The club is under the supervision of Mr. Stephen V. Flora, Judo Club Adviser, and Sir Peter John B. A total of 273 College of Business and Management (CoBAM) senior students from the programs of Bachelor of Science Major in Financial Management, Management Accounting, and Public Administration were officially pinned during the Pinning and Donning Ceremony, with the theme: "Donning with pride, pinning with Purpose: A journey of Passion and Profession", held at the LCCC - Cubay Campus Covered Court, today, February 13. The student interns officially began their on-the-job training in January 2026 at different 99 partner institutions, which will prepare and shape them for real-world work practices in their future careers and professions. Present at the event were the guest speaker Ms. Rosemarie J. Sarnate, Acting PIO- Designate of PIO La Carlota; Dr. Joyce C. TThe Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics (BSEd Math) representatives snapped 1st Runner-up in the 1st Invitational BSEd Mathematics Quiz Bee during the Mathematics Day 2026 Celebration with the theme βMath-e-Magical Carnival 2026: Ο-rade of Fun, Numbers & Hopeβ held at the Activity Center, Bacolod City College, February 12. Among the BSEd Math participants were Winzy Soriano from BSEd Math 2A, Julie Ann Mondia from BSEd Math 3A, and Joven Galitguit from BSEd Math 4A. The College of Criminal Justice (CoCJ) underwent a shooting range inspection and gun safety orientation held at La Carlota City College Cubay Campus, February 9. The event was initiated by the Regional Civil Security Unit of PNP Negros Island Region (RCSU NIR), headed by PLTCOL Lyndel Grace L. Matillano, OIC RCSU NIR, together with PCPT Freddie C. Cayot Jr., Assistant Chief RCSU NIR; PSSg Johnny P. Giducos, Enforcement SAGS and Supply PNCO; and PSSg Bonie L. Dejido, FES Action PNCO. Also present during the inspection were Dr. Gemar Alarcon, Criminology Instructor, and Mr. Ian Dexter Del Rosario, Supply Officer.
CoLA congregates for MOA Signing and Pinning Ceremony 2026
