βLa Carlota City College participated in the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XVIII (CHEDRO XVIII) 1st Consultative Conference with the Regional Director, held at the Negros Oriental Main Campus Sports and Cultural Complex in Dumaguete City on January 27. β βThe activity was intended for the President and Vice President for Academic Affairs of state universities, local colleges, and private higher education institutions (HEIs) in Region XVIII, in line with the provisions of Republic Act No. 7722, known as the Higher Education Act of 1994. β βThe conference aimed to provide a venue for discussion between the Commission and HEI leaders regarding academic and institutional concerns in the region. β βLCCC was represented by Dr. Larnie Sam A. Tabuena, College President, and Dr. Maylin M. Tongcua, OIC Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Ms. Esther Faith Gonzaga discussed the Bawal Bastos Law or RA 11313, highlighting, βCarefulness costs you nothing. Carelessness may cost you your life.β Sir Alexis Z. Ligayo discussed the enforcement of environmental laws, addressing their importance, the persons liable for violations, and the corresponding penalties. β The event was conducted to educate participants on crucial laws, provide accessible legal assistance, and remind them of their shared responsibility in ensuring that everyone feels safe and valued. It reflected the importance of awareness and preparedness in every situation, reinforcing the Collegeβs commitment to community empowerment and social justice.
The College of Criminal Justice (CoCJ) held a reorientation program for the 365 Criminology Interns of Class Bagsik Lawin 2025-2026, at the LCCC Cubay Campus yesterday, January 23. The program was conducted to remind interns of their duties, attendance, and submission requirements needed to pass the Criminology Practicum. It was led by CoCJ Program Head Ronnie T. Basa, Dr. Gemar I. Alarcon, and Prof. Jessa Joy T. Subaldo.
The SSC and the LCCC community participate in the Jubilee Fun Run and Zumba para sa Parokya at Our Lady of Peace Parish, La Carlota City today, January 17, 2026. Held in honor of the parishβs 155th Patronal Fiesta, the event brought together volunteers and participants from various local agencies and educational institutions. Participants included the LCCC (Faculty, Education, Criminology, Agriculture, SSC, and Campus Ministry), BJMP, BFP, Delta Company 62nd IB, DHSBNHS, South 1, Batuan Elementary School, Pontevedra NHS, Comelec, USLS, UNO-R, Ayungon Elementary School, BCC, CCFI, San Miguel NHS, USSC, and other runners, organizers, and participants. The Professional Regulatory Board of Agriculture (PRB Agriculture) inspection and monitoring team from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) visited La Carlota City College (LCCC) Main and Cubay campuses today, January 15. The PRB Agriculture team, including Hon. Emma K. Sales, Chairperson of the Professional Regulatory Board of Agriculture; Hon. Annabelle S. Sarabia, Member of the Board; and Ms. Salome Preciosa G. Daymoto, Chief of the Regulatory Division, inspected the offices accompanied by the LCCC staff. The team focused on the College of Agriculture (CoAg) to check documents, resources, facilities, and the eligibility of CoAg faculty members to teach the six core subjects in the Agriculture Licensure Examination (ALE), namely: Soil Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Extension and Communication, Crop Science, Agricultural Economics and Marketing, and Crop Protection. This process ensures that students receive an education that sufficiently prepares them for future board examinations and professional practice. The team was first welcomed through an opening program held at the Graduate School Library β Main Campus. The program was attended by Dr. Larnie Sam Tabuena, College President; Dr. Maylin Tongcua, OIC Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Mary Hope Ayson, Vice President for Administration and Human Resource; Prof. Leah Velasco, Vice President for Finance; Dr. Ma. Cecilia Mercado, Dean of the College of Agriculture; faculty members; CoAg overall student officers; and selected students from the CoEd.
September 2025 LET Results are in! La Carlota City College β College of Education produced 266 newly licensed professional teachers from the recently held Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) conducted on September 21, 2025. A total of 43 LPTs for the elementary level and 223 LPTs for the secondary level were among the 21,967 elementary teachers out of 43,035 examinees (51.04%) and 57,729 secondary teachers out of 79,493 examinees (72.62%) nationwide who passed this yearβs September 2025 LET. La Carlota City College β College of Agriculture proudly recognizes 34 new Agriculturists from the recently held Agriculturists Licensure Examination (ALE) conducted on November 19-21, 2025. The PRC announced that 6,678 out of 9,742 examinees nationwide passed the November 2025 Agriculturists Licensure Examination, with a 68.55% national passing rate. LCCC also celebrates a meaningful achievement this year with 34 passers out of 82 takers, giving the College an improved 41.46% overall rating, higher than last yearβs 36.11%, marking a meaningful rise in performance.
