"CoLA honors its academic awardees through its Day of Excellence"

It is built through pressure, sacrifice, faith, perseverance, and resilience," said Ms. Lalaine Grace P. Moralidad, LPT, Research Associate I. The College of Liberal Arts recognized its academic awardees on its Day of Excellence, with the theme "Celebrating Excellence in the Face of Adversity," held at the Graduate School Library on the Main Campus today, May 8. The theme honors the resilience of Liberal Arts students, whose academic excellence stands as a testament to their courage despite the challenges they faced throughout their learning journey. These students exemplify how their commitment to learning thrives even under pressure. Their excellence is reflected not only in their academic performance but also in their ability to adapt in an ever-changing world. Present at the event were Dr. Maylin M. Tongcua, OIC-Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Marilou B. Yanson, Dean of CoLA; Prof. Laurence M. Lachica, Head of the Office of Student Affairs and Services; parents; and the faculty and staff of the College of Liberal Arts.

Villanueva, guest speaker of CoAg Pasidungog ’26. ‎ To honor the exemplary achievements of its students, the College of Agriculture (CoAg) held its 1st Commendation Day with the theme, “Honoring Minds that Cultivate the Future,” at the Graduate School Library, Main Campus, on May 7. ‎ The event aimed to recognize the diligent efforts of students who demonstrated outstanding academic performance. It served as a formal recognition of those who achieved academic distinction, committed themselves to selfless service, and strived for excellence beyond the field. ‎ ‎Present during the event were Dr. Larnie Sam A. Tabuena, College President; Dr. Maylin M. Tongcua, OIC-Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Mary Hope Q. Ayson, Vice President for Administration and Human Resource; Prof. Laurence M. "CHED-NIR Monitoring and Evaluation Team visits LCCC"

‎The Commission on Higher Education–Negros Island Region (CHED-NIR) Monitoring and Evaluation Team visited La Carlota City College today, April 13.The visitation was conducted to ensure that the college continues to uphold quality assurance in higher education by evaluating institutional compliance with national standards, assessing the readiness of academic programs, and reviewing student services.‎ The CHED-NIR Monitoring and Evaluation Team was composed of Benrie James Nufable, Supervising Education Program Specialist; Louie Callora, Education Supervisor II; John Rey Olpoc, Education Supervisor II; Noraisa Wee, Education Supervisor II; James Basas, Education Supervisor II; Jose Leonardo Degillo, Education Supervisor II; Patricia Beatrice D. "LCCC joins National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill"

La Carlota City College participated in the 2026 First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) today, March 12. Students and staff practiced the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" technique and followed evacuation procedures to assess preparedness for seismic emergencies. ‎ ‎The drill aligns with national efforts, as the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) encouraged institutions to take part in earthquake preparedness activities to strengthen disaster resilience. ‎ ‎The exercise aims to improve coordination among national and regional response systems and assess readiness for a high-magnitude earthquake, or "The Big One." ‎ ‎The activity underscores La Carlota City College's commitment to national disaster preparedness. ‎ ‎Relevant source: ‎https://www.google.com/.../ph-earthquake.../story/%3famp
