"Kabankalan officials visit LCCC for benchmarking"

‎ A delegation of key officials from the City Government of Kabankalan visited La Carlota City College (LCCC) to conduct a benchmarking activity as the city moves toward establishing its own local higher education institution. Led by Kabankalan City Vice Mayor Hon. Divina Gracia Miranda, the delegation also included City Administrator Atty. Mac Lord Zafra; City Councilors Hon. Helen Ibañez and Hon. Macario Zafra III; Public Information Officer IV Jake Carlyne Tugbang; Budget Officer Joemil Porol; Executive Assistant to the Mayor Joel Palata; Budget Office staff Renante Marasigan; City Consultant Dr. Fernando Abello; and Assistant City Planning and Development Office official Eric Einosas. The meeting and tour served as a vital knowledge-sharing platform, where the Kabankalan officials gathered insights on organizational structure, academic program development, administrative systems, financial management, student services, and quality assurance practices—all essential as they plan and develop the proposed Kabankalan City College. They were welcomed by the LCCC officials led by College President Dr. Larnie Sam Tabuena, together with Dr. Mary Hope Ayson, Vice President for Administration and Human Resource; Dr. Maylin Tongcua, OIC-Vice President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Leah Velasco, Vice President for Finance; Prof. Laurence Lachica, Head of the Office of Student Affairs and Services; Prof. Rasel Reyes, Quality Assurance Officer; and Dr. Doreen Bandiez, Guidance Counselor. Both parties expressed optimism that the partnership and exchange of best practices will contribute to stronger local education systems, benefiting students and communities in both cities.

A total of 552 graduates from the College of Agriculture (CoAg), College of Education (CoEd), and College of Liberal Arts (CoLA) gathered for their graduation ceremony, themed “Sustaining Legacy, Ensuring Quality, Leading the Future,” held at the City Gymnasium 1 today, May 28. The event was held to officially confer academic degrees to the students who successfully completed their college programs. It served as a formal recognition of their academic work and fulfillment of institutional requirements. Present at the event were Hon. Jose Luis “Joelu” Jalandoni, City Mayor; Hon. Josefina A. These students exemplify how their commitment to learning thrives even under pressure. Their excellence is reflected not only in their academic performance but also in their ability to adapt in an ever-changing world. Present at the event were Dr. Maylin M. ‎The Commission on Higher Education–Negros Island Region (CHED-NIR) Monitoring and Evaluation Team visited La Carlota City College today, April 13.The visitation was conducted to ensure that the college continues to uphold quality assurance in higher education by evaluating institutional compliance with national standards, assessing the readiness of academic programs, and reviewing student services.‎ The CHED-NIR Monitoring and Evaluation Team was composed of Benrie James Nufable, Supervising Education Program Specialist; Louie Callora, Education Supervisor II; John Rey Olpoc, Education Supervisor II; Noraisa Wee, Education Supervisor II; James Basas, Education Supervisor II; Jose Leonardo Degillo, Education Supervisor II; Patricia Beatrice D.
